01PHASES

Phase Framework

A first-article program is how a new alloy or supplier enters your bill of materials. MPS-1 runs 6–12 weeks and ends with a locked spec sheet, three qualification lots on your desk, and a costed production quote for MPS-2.

PHASE 1 · WEEK 1–2
Technical Intake & Spec Lock
Program intake, spec review, and identification of applicable AMS/ASTM/MIL/OEM specifications. Output: locked material spec sheet with chemistry, PSD, morphology, and packaging requirements.
PHASE 2 · WEEK 3–4
Feedstock Sourcing
Atomizer or mill selection, lot commitment, and pre-shipment chemistry review. For plasma-atomized titanium and refractory metals, this phase includes atomizer capacity reservation.
PHASE 3 · WEEK 5–8
Qualification Lot Production
Three qualification lots produced against the locked spec. Each lot carries full analytical package. Lot samples retained on-site for the life of the program.
PHASE 4 · WEEK 9–10
Analytical Verification
Chemistry (ICP-MS, LECO O/N/H), PSD (static laser diffraction), morphology (dynamic image analysis + SEM), flow, apparent/tap density, moisture. Package delivered to buyer engineering.
PHASE 5 · WEEK 11–12
Program Handoff
Buyer engineering signoff. MPS-2 production quote issued. Blanket PO framework proposed if the program moves to recurring supply.

Physical lots on your dock with full analytical package, retained sample library at MPS, and lot traceability to the atomizer or mill.
DELIVERABLE 03
First-Article Report
Consolidated qualification report packaged for buyer engineering, quality, and program management. Suitable for internal FAI submission.
DELIVERABLE 04
Production Quote & Timeline
Costed proposal for MPS-2 recurring supply with volume-tiered pricing, lead-time commitments, and inventory model options.
