Powder Systems Supported

Metal Powder Supply feedstock is qualified for the four dominant powder-bed and directed-energy printing processes: Laser Powder Bed Fusion (LPBF) — 15–45 µm typical, tight PSD, high sphericity; Electron Beam Melting (EBM) — 45–105 µm, low oxygen and low satellite content mandatory; Directed Energy Deposition (DED) — 45–150 µm, good flow, low internal porosity; and Binder Jetting — 5–25 µm, high packing density, fine control on satellites and moisture.

OEM platforms we ship into include EOS M290 / M400, SLM Solutions NXG, Renishaw AM500, GE Concept Laser M2, Velo3D Sapphire, Arcam Spectra L/H, Trumpf TruPrint, Additive Industries MetalFAB, ExOne / Desktop Metal binder-jet, and Optomec / DM3D DED systems. Powder is qualified against the specific OEM datasheets and the customer's locked build parameters.

02ATOMIZATION ROUTES

Atomization Routes

Gas atomization (GA) — the workhorse. Argon-atomized under closed loop, minimal oxygen pickup, tight PSD control via cyclonic classification. Standard for LPBF and DED. Highest cost efficiency at production volume.

Plasma atomization (PA) — plasma-heated titanium and refractory metal wires atomized into ultra-spherical, satellite-free powder. Highest sphericity available. Standard for aerospace-critical titanium builds and medical implants. Premium pricing vs. GA.

Water atomization (WA) — cost-optimized ferrous powder for binder-jet and MIM. Lower sphericity, higher oxygen — suitable where downstream densification handles morphology.

Plasma rotating electrode (PREP) — where absolute sphericity and zero satellite content are required. Ultra-low volume, ultra-high cost. Sourced through partner atomizers under our MPS-3 strategic program tier.

03LOT PACKAGE

Lot Package

Every powder lot ships with a full analytical package: chemistry (ICP-MS, LECO O/N/H), PSD (static laser diffraction — Mie theory), morphology (dynamic image analysis for sphericity/aspect ratio, plus SEM lot retention), flow (Hall funnel), apparent and tap density, and moisture. Certificates issued against the customer-specified spec (AMS, ASTM F-series, or OEM datasheet). Powder is packaged under argon in sealed drums with tamper-evident seals; PMI verification available.

Programs requiring lot retention samples, re-atomization traceability, or virgin/used blend tracking are handled under MPS-2 production programs.
